Are You Troubled By Headaches !

Neck pain and headaches account for about 20% of visits to chiropractors in this country. Cervical spine adjustments are appropriate for patients with neck pain and headache.

Fifty-one percent of people will experience at least one attack of neck pain in their adult lives. Of patients presenting to primary care physicians with a musculoskeletal complaint, approximately 1 in 8 has neck pain.”

Spinal adjustments = reduced hours with headache, reduced headache intensity, reduced analgesic consumption, in the case of cervicogenic headache.”

Cervicogenic Headache is a disorder located in the joints, nerves, muscles or tendons and ligaments of the neck..  It is any one of the above or the dysfunction of one or all. Although 2.5% have a prevalence of 1 month our clinic experience is that a lot of people have 1 to 4 headaches a week. These headaches are started by movement, or awkward neck postures such as looking up. Restriction of the motion of the neck with one-sided neck, shoulder, or arm pain. One-sided head pain with no shift, fluctuating continuous pain of varying duration.

Migraines however are different, there is nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, blurred vision, a pulsating quality with moderate to severe intensity that limits daily activity. These headaches may last 4 to 72 hours. Migraines are a special interest to Dr. Crowder because his wife’s migraine headaches are what got him interested in Chiropractic.

ALL HEADACHES ARE CAUSED BY SUBLUXATION AND RESPOND TO CHIROPRACTIC CARE.
